Community and Heritage Celebration Day2025
Community and Heritage Celebration Day
Community and Heritage Celebration Day is an annual family event at Rowland Hill Nursery School and Children's Centre which celebrates all our families.

We share food from all the many cultures represented by our local community. Families share cultural dishes with each other and the children learn about national dress, flags, dance and information about each others cultures and traditions at a fun day event. Children feel valued and it supports children self esteem, confidence and knowledge in understanding the world.
This year we had amazing performances from:

The food was amazing this year and families really enjoyed coming together to celebrate our community.

Minister for Early Education and Childcare Visits2025
Minister for Early Education and Childcare Visits
We were delighted to welcome Stephen Morgan MP, Minister for Early Education and Childcare, to Woodlands Park Nursery School and Children's Centre on Wednesday 7th May. His visit marked the launch of the Department for Education’s latest initiative, which highlights the importance of play in early childhood education and its positive impact on children’s development.
With the deadline for childcare code applications approaching on 31st March, the campaign also encourages families to explore support options available through the Childcare Choices website.
To read more about the Minister’s visit to another outstanding setting, please visit the Rowland Hill Nursery School and Children's Centre website.
To learn more about the Minister’s recent visit at Woodlands Park Nursery School and Children's Centre, read the article from Haringey News: ‘Minister for Early Years Visits ‘Outstanding’ Children’s Centre’.

Bird ProjectAutumn Term
Bird Project
This half term the children have been working on a bird project with our resident artist. We started by looking for different types of birds in the garden, using binoculars, and then using a guidebook to name the different species. We have made bird feeders to encourage a range of birds into our garden.
During the project we have also been exploring the use of natural resources such as clay, acorns and sticks to make houses for the birds to live in. This has helped to support the children's creativity and to further develop their motor skills. The intent is that the sculptures will then be displayed in our garden to help support its development.

Winter Celebration11th December
Winter Celebration
Our annual winter celebration is a much-loved event in the school calendar, bringing families together to share a festive experience. Parents and children gather outdoors to sing seasonal songs together, creating a joyful atmosphere and a real sense of community. Afterwards, families are invited to warm up with minced pies, hot chocolate, and biscuits. This celebration offers a wonderful opportunity for children and parents to spend time together, enjoy the winter season, and strengthen the close partnership between home and school.
